Encourage One Another

John’s words of encouragement to his readers are to alleviate any concern they had about their potential standing before God. Whether immature, growing, or mature believers, John encourages them away from distractions in their walk with God so they will all remain (continue to walk) in truth. He writes, “What you have heard from the beginning is to remain in you. If what you have heard from the beginning remains in you, then you will remain in the Son and in the Father.” (1Jn.2.24)

Encouragement is reflecting the heart of God towards others. It happens as we live out our faith in authentic community. Everyone in Christ is given the empowering presence of the Spirit who stands with us, enabling us to encourage others.
