Empowered by the Spirit

The outpouring of the Spirit on all flesh fifty days after Jesus’ resurrection brought revolutionary change to the culture because of the change in character in the lives of people filled with the Spirit. This transforming work speaks of the power of the gospel.

Paul wrote to the Galatians about their need to walk by the Spirit, and the necessity of keeping in step with him. (See Gal,5:25.) This is where fruitfulness in the Christian life is found, as the Spirit changes us from the inside out. Fruitfulness is produced, not achieved, in the lives of those in whom the Spirit dwells.
