Resilient in Service
Are you ready to serve with resilience? Yesterday, Brian took us through 1 Corinthians 3:5-17, inviting us to explore what it means to remain steadfast in faith and love with the work God has called us to. Paul's message to us is clear: our focus should not be on the individuals carrying out the work but rather on God’s active presence and direction in the work HE is doing. Just as the Corinthian church navigated their storms, we too are called to cultivate a resilience that aligns with God’s design for our lives and community.
An important part of this journey is the balance between our personal passions and the humility required in service. The moment we start believing that ministry success is solely due to our efforts, pride creeps in, potentially leading to the kind of divisions experienced by the Corinthians. Paul's teachings remind us that our achievements are not merely our own; they are gifts from God, meant to be celebrated and shared within our community. Although we may not all be called to the same tasks, we are united in our purpose to support and uplift one another in our various giftedness and callings. Despite the various obstacles we face, in Christ we are enabled not to lose heart or get frustrated.
As we enter this week, consider your participation in service. Are there areas in our community (church and local towns) where you are being invited to serve? How can you cultivate a heart that focuses on Christ as your foundation and not get distracted or deformed by worldy perspectives?
