All In
"Seeking You as a precious jewel
Lord, to give up I'd be a fool
You are my all in all."
The uneasiness of all in is real. It's truly vulnerable to let Christ continue to transform you! "All" has been a central theme over these last few months looking at Paul's letter to the Colossians. The Christian life is not merely waiting for eternity to come, but energized by a restorative relationship with Christ now. We are invited, not just to some, but to be all in. As Brian shared yesterday, going "all in" is easier said than done.
The "shallows" are the areas of comfort where it becomes easy to see the bottom, to feel a sense of control. Will you accept Jesus' invitation out into the deep? Into the spaces where we need to rely on His strength and guidance rather than our own? As Brian asked, are you willing just to lift your foot - willing to take the next step? Is your relationship with Christ worth the risk of experiencing more closeness and depth?
Take time this week to prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the areas in your life where you feel resistant. Stand at the water's edge, open your arms wide, and let Him pull you in with Him.
